Ten Reasons to Get Involved with Nashville Pride

10) Meet people who care about the things you care about.

Getting involved in Nashville Pride means meeting people who are committed to GLBT issues in Middle Tennessee. You’ll meet new friends and make important connections that could lead to, well, pretty much anything! Now we’re not saying you will definitely get a date out of volunteering for Pride, but the likelihood is much higher than if you just stay home

9) Step out of your normal routine!

Want a way to shake things up? Get involved with Nashville Pride and you’ll add a rewarding new dimension to your life. Feel the satisfaction of spreading a pro-GLBT message and raising money for one of our most important and high-profile events of the year meeting cool people along the way.

8 ) You become better looking.

Okay…this one may be a stretch. But if you’re applying to college or a new job, your resume definitely becomes better looking with some volunteer experience listed!

7) You learn a LOT.

Here at Nashville Pride, we interface with a lot of different groups in Nashville from sponsors to entertainment to government offices. Volunteering at Nashville Pride gives you the opportunity to learn how these relationships work and find out more about local GLBT businesses and resources.

6) You get a chance to give back.

Getting involved in Nashville Pride is a chance for you to support a community initiative you care about. From securing sponsorships,  to finding grassroots ways to reach out to the community, to planning a fabulous routine for Turnabout (at Play Dance bar April 1) you’ll be contributing to the cause every step of the way and will have fun doing it. Let’s be honest here: giving back feels good.

5) We want your help!

There’s a ton of stuff to get done and we could always use another eager volunteer. Whether you want to help with planning, organizing, spreading the word or lending a hand on the big day (June 18), we can find a volunteer opportunity that fits your schedule.

4) Pride is way more than just a summer festival; it lasts year-round!

By getting involved in Pride you can get involved in fun Pride events that happen year-round, such as our recent 2 Chefs/2 Visions extravaganza and our upcoming Martinis & Jazz event, featuring our best Silent Auction yet! We also have a presence at events that are important to other groups including the HRC Dinner,  Nashville Black Pride and many more.

3) Pride is FUN.

Get behind-the-scenes access to all things Nashville Pride. Help plan parties and events. Join us on bar blitzes. Mull over a slew of awesome bands for the big day. If fun is what you’re after, getting involved in Nashville Pride is a no-brainer.

2) You can help make a difference in Nashville.

By helping out with Pride, you help us maintain a sense of community for GLBT people in Middle Tennessee. We’re constantly finding ways to advance GLBT equality, including our recent endorsement of  the proposed ordinance requiring Metro vendors to adopt nondiscrimination policies for employment with regards to sexuality and gender identity. You can help us build on the positive momentum!

1) Showing Your Pride is a symbiotic act!

Getting involved not only makes Pride better for Nashville, it makes it better for YOU!
